Usually you will hear a clicking noise when making sharp turns when you have a bad CV Joint/Shaft. The main culprit in the failure of a CV (Constant Velocity) shaft is a torn rubber boot on either end of the shaft. Dirt and debris get into the CV Joint and cause a failure.
